30 Pounds and Counting

Afternoon Day 19

Well, even though I haven't posted, don't make the mistake of thinking that I've fallen off the wagon. I weighed in at 190 pounds today. That makes my total weight loss 18 pounds. That means I'm pretty close to my 1 pound per day goal. So I feel like I'm right on track. I'll probably hit 170 pounds sometime next month if I manage to stay on track. And I will manage to do that. I am determined to reach this goal!

I have to say that overall the Nutrisystems food has been pretty good. I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating. There are a few items that I just don't care for but most of it has been pretty good. A few things I even like and look forward to. The Lemon Blueberry Dessert Bars are really great and probably my favorite single item so far. Too bad I only have one of those in the shipment. I'm going to have to special order some more of those bad boys.

I'll keep you all posted about my progress.

Afternoon of Day 11

Boy! I've been bouncing around 195 pounds all week long. Not much progress here. I should be going to the gym, but have been really busy with work this week.

I made another non NS omelette this morning. Those are nice. Sautee some onions and mushrooms then pour the egg substitute over the top. Only a little bit of non-stick olive oil spray to lube the sautee pan. Salt and pepper to taste and good to go.

I have enjoyed the Nutrisystem food for the most part.

I had to share with you that I just ate the Strawberry Nutripeptide Bar. It was the hardest nutrition bar I have ever tried to eat. I thought I was going to break my teeth and I could hardly chew it. I'll have to stick the next one in the microwave for a few minutes to see if it helps.

End of Day 7

Okay, I managed to lose another pound. That puts me at 195 pounds. We'll keep watching to see how low it goes.

I made a really nice mushroom and onion omelette this morning. I just can't stomach the powdered eggs in the Nutrisystem meals. Bleeccccchhhh! But I had some egg substiture (low cholesterol/low fat) and where I would normally use butter for the fat, I had an olive oil based pan spray (also low cholesterol/low fat). So I sauteed some mushrooms and onions then poured in the egg substitute. A little salt and pepper and a flip later, I had an omelette on the plate. A really nice treat.

For lunch I had the Black Beans and Rice and a salad. I really liked the Black Beans and Rice. It just needed a little bit of salt and pepper to make it taste really nice.

For supper I had the Beef Chili. Oh my gosh, that rocks! I really liked it a lot. I had some strawberries and yogurt to go with my meal.

I kind of botched my Chocolate Pudding dessert. I added too much milk and it was runny. Oh well!

We'll see how the weigh-in goes tomorrow.

End of Day 6

Well I seem to be stalled about where I expected to be. I'm still weighing in at 196 pounds for the last several days. I think it's my body's way of saying, "Hey! The easy part is OH-VAH!"

I'm still sticking to the Nutrisystem food, although there have been a couple of instances where I needed to eat and I didn't bring food along with me. For the most part my choices have been healthy and in a few cases they weren't very healthy. But overall I've lost a good amount of weight. If I stick with it and stay the course, I'll start seeing some more movement in the next few days.

I had a Thai Noodle with Tofu dinner tonight. I'm not a big fan of tofu. I know people say, "it's just like chicken," but I think they're fooling themselves. I missed the chicken in that particular dish. Well at least it was better than the Tuna Casserole that I had last night. That was more like a tuna flavored mush dish. They could do some work to improve that recipe.

Hmmm.... goals for the week? I need to get to the gym more often. I'm going to shoot for two days this week.

Beginning of Day 5

Sorry I've been away for so long. My original goal was to try to explain each meal to you so you could know what to expect. But it's just been really busy around here working on another project.

I just weighed in at 196 pounds and I'm feeling pretty good about this diet so far.

The Nutrisystem food has been pretty good overall. There have been several items that I don't care for. But many items that really aren't bad at all. Especially once I add some seasoning.

The lunches are smallish but as long as I can make a decent salad to add to it, it's plenty to eat.

Supper is probably my favorite meal so far. The portions are a bit larger and I usually end the day feeling satisfied.

Over the past couple of days I've had Rotini & Meatballs with Tomato Sauce and Salisbury Steak with Gravy and Rice for dinner. I've had Chicken Cacciatore for lunch which was really nice once I added some salt.

I'll keep up with this Nutrisystem diet for the month and evaluate whether I want to continue. But so far it's looking pretty good.

I have a personal goal to reach 170 pounds, which means I have 26 pounds to go. But I've already lost 12 pounds off my top weight. I imagine I'm quickly approaching the end of the quick weight loss and approaching the tougher loss period. We'll just watch and see.

Patience and Persistence are the key to stay the course.
